Pinnawala orphanage is situated in Rabukkana, northwest of the town Kegalla, halfway between the present capital Colombo, and the ancient royal residence Kandy in the hills of central Sri Lanka. It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife Department. This 24-acre large elephant orphanage is also breeding pace for elephants, the first elephant baby was born in 1984, and it has the greatest herd of elephants in captivity in the world. Between 1975 and 2012, 67 animals were born here.

Kandy is a major city in Sri Lanka, located in the Central Province, of Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. Kandy, also known as the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, has a lot in store for tourists. The city is nestled on a plateau which is surrounded by mountains that make up tea plantations and rainforests. At an altitude of 500m above sea level, Kandy offers a much cooler and more relaxed climate when compared to Colombo. Places to visit in Kandy include the beautiful Kandy Lake located at the heart of the city, around which most of the city revolves.

Off to Nuwara Eliya on the third day of our thrilling Sri Lanka vacation! - Cycle through the wonderful Gregory Park facing the sunset

Ella town is one of the best places to visit in Sri Lanka from your Sri Lanka tour itinerary. You experience one of the most picturesque train rides in the world when you pass beautiful mountains, steamy waterfalls, luscious forests, and villages with beaming locals: on the Kandy to Ella train. You climb the Ella rock and walk along the rails on the famous Nine Arch Bridge. Note: The train for the sector of Ella - Nuwara Eliya is not only a scenic train for tourists but also a public transport carrier for local people, which means that getting hands on a reserved seat especially during the peak period is pretty tough, no matter how early we make the reservation. In case tickets were sold out.
Udawalawe National Park is a national park on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces in Sri Lanka. The park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir.
